Graduated from Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka in June 2006.

  • Obtained 2nd class upper division with distinction in Anatomy in 2nd MBBS examination.
  • Obtained 2nd class lower division in 3rd MBBS examination.
  • Obtained 2nd class upper division with distinction in Surgery and Gynaecology and Obstetrics in final MBBS.

Completed MD in Medicine in April 2014 in Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Colombo.

  1. Published a leaflet (in Tamil) containing basic knowledge about healthy life style including healthy diet and regular exercises and hypertension and diabetes mellitus for the patients following medical clinics at Teaching Hospital, Jaffna during senior registrar training.
  2. Published an article (in Tamil) in “Udayan”, Tamil newspaper, Jaffna, regarding Healthy Life. It includes the body mass index, balanced diet, recommended regular exercises and basics of hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The article was published weekly for three weeks 29.06.2014 onwards.
  3. Published a leaflet (in Tamil) containing knowledge about dengue fever including clinical features, diagnosis, management and prevention at Teaching Hospital Batticaloa

Research Interest

  • Interested in Diabetes and endocrinology and non-communicable diseases, especially obesity, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension.
  • Interested in toxicology (snake bite) and dengue fever

  • Won the first prize for the picture test during the joint scientific session of Jaffna Medical Faculty Overseas Alumni and The Alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna in 2015
